More Snow?

Can you believe we are going to be getting more snowfall tonight? Possibly up to 15 cms before it's all over this time around. They say this snow is from a clipper system in the northern states. Fortunately, it will taper off tonight. The heaviest snowfall is expected for communities south of the TransCanada Highway where up to 15 cm total is expected. Near the Turtle Mountains and along the southern Pembina Escarpment, the higher terrain could lead to total accumulations locally approaching 20 cm.

Now we need to be concerned about widespread blowing as brief wind gusts of 40 to 50 km/h are possible following the bulk of the snowfall Monday morning in the southern Red River Valley. Winds will diminish to light for most of southern Manitoba by Monday afternoon.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Take frequent breaks and avoid strain when clearing snow.

Coming in from Winnipeg this morning there was wet snow between the peg and Portage. But it was melting as soon as it hit the ground. I also heard 75% of Canada will see snow within the next week.
