UPDATE: Bear Spray Bandit Arrested

ROBBERY ARREST

As a result of an ongoing investigation in which a robbery took place at a business on the 1500 block of 18th St a male was arrested on April 28th.  The male had bear-sprayed staff and stole an iPhone and AirPods. The large area was contaminated and the business had to close. 

 

As a result, a 21-year-old male was arrested for Robbery with Violence, Assault with a Weapon X2, Possession of a Weapon, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Failing to Comply with a Release Order and Possess Methamphetamine as he was found with a small amount of crystal methamphetamine on him at the time of the arrest.  He was lodged for court. 

 


 

 

THEFT FROM VEHICLE

Just prior to 11:30 am on April 28th a complaint was received that a male was just seen stealing a wallet and cell phone from a vehicle on the 700 block of 14th St. The phone was tracked to a parking lot on the 400 block of 8th St.  A 32-year-old male was arrested and found in possession of the cell phone. He was released with an Appearance Notice to appear in court on June 19th. 

 

 

BREACH UNDERTAKING

Shortly before 2:00 pm on April 28th police were dispatched to the area of 8th Street and Pacific Avenue for a report of a fight. A female and a male were checked in the area. The female was bound by an Undertaking not to communicate with the male.  A 24-year-old female was arrested and released with an Appearance Notice to appear in court on June 5th. 

 

 

DOMESTIC ASSAULT

Shortly after 6:00 pm, a female had flagged down police officers in the area of 10th Street and Victoria Avenue.  She had minor injuries and was advised that she was assaulted by her boyfriend.  Police searched for the 40-year-old male but were unable to locate him. A warrant for his arrest is being requested.

 

 

WARRANTS

At 8:45 am on April 28th police observed a male walking on the 100 block of 11th St.  This male was known to police to have an outstanding warrant for Failing to Appear in Court for his arrest.  The warrant was confirmed and as a result, a 38-year-old male was arrested and released with an Appearance Notice to appear in court on June 1st. 

 

Shortly after 4:30 pm on April 28th police observed a male on the 700 block of 18th St. This male was known to police to have outstanding warrants.  These warrants were confirmed and the male was arrested. 

 

As a result, a 52-year-old male was arrested for Fraud Under $5,000, Possess Property Obtained by Crime, and Failing to Appear in Court. He was lodged for court. 

 

Shortly after 6:30 pm, a male was located on the 800 block of Pacific Avenue.  He was checked and found to have an outstanding warrant for Theft Under $5,000.  A 23-year-old male was arrested and released with an Undertaking.  He is to appear in court on June 1st. 

Just prior to 7:00 pm on April 28th police checked a male on the 600 block of Victoria Avenue. The male had an outstanding warrant for Failing to Appear in Court.  A 31-year-old male was arrested and lodged for court. 

Shortly after 9:30 pm, police attended to a residence on the 900 block of Rosser Avenue in search of a female with an outstanding warrant for Theft Under $5,000.  A 29-year-old female was arrested and released with an Undertaking.  She is to appear in court on June 26th. 

 

OTHER ARRESTS

Just prior to 11:00 pm a highly intoxicated female was conveyed to BRHC by ambulance.  Once cleared there was no one to turn her over to.  Due to her intoxicated state, she was lodged at BPS to ensure her safety. 

Shortly after 11:30 pm a 26-year-old male was detained after police were called to the area of 2200 Pacific Ave.  Due to his intoxicated state, he was lodged at BPS for his safety. 

Just prior to 2:30 am on April 29th police were called to the parking lot of a bar on 18th Street North as an intoxicated male was causing problems.  As a result, a 27-year-old male was lodged at BPS to prevent further problems. 

Shortly after 4:00 am a call was received to a business on 18th Street North that a female was passed out in the hallway.  As a result, she was medically cleared and lodged at BPS to ensure her safety.  

Shortly after 5:00 am police were called to a residence in the area of 20th St North and Assiniboine Avenue as an intoxicated male was causing problems. A 26-year-old male was lodged at BPS to prevent further problems. 

Shortly after 5:00 am police were called to a residence on Cornell Bay as a male was intoxicated and causing problems.  A 26-year-old male was lodged at BPS to prevent further problems.  

Shortly after 6:00 am police responded to a business on the 900 block of Victoria Av as a male was running at staff and kicking the doors.  A 32-year-old male was lodged at BPS to prevent further problems.
