Physio First Food Drive Runs This Saturday, June 8th

The Physiofirst Food First Food Drive has been an annual event for approximately 16 years. This year's event is somewhat of a hybrid version of the original.

The Physio First Group of volunteers are holding true to their concept of trying to make it as convenient for the donor as possible. Due to a number of logistical issues, they are unable to deliver bags to every home in Brandon followed up by the pick up by high school students and drivers from local service groups.

This year four drop-off locations have been arranged throughout the city. They have attempted to place the drop-off sites in four quadrants around the city so donors can choose the one that's closest to their home which makes donating as easy as possible.

Tables will be set up at each drop-off location. They will be marked with large blue flags and balloons in the following parking lots. These are the locations where donations can be dropped off:

- Sobeys West on Victoria Avenue

- Co-op grocery store on Richmond Avenue

- Safeway in The Carol Centre,

- Hometown Auto Glass on First Street.

The theme of Purge the Pantry will continue. Most households have extra tins of non-perishables that can be donated. The need has never been greater for families that rely on the Samaritan House food bank.

Again this year Physio First is partnering with IG Wealth Investment group that being Dennis Hunt and Associates along with the generous location donations of the drop-off sites.

We ask people to fill bags with non-perishables and bring them in Saturday, June 8 from 10 AM to 2 PM to the above-mentioned drop off sites.

Thanks to everyone who takes the time to make their donations which hopefully will result in yet another Physio First Food Drive!

To date, the fourteen food drives have collected approximately 100,000 lbs. of food. This food is distributed locally through the Samaritan House food bank. Foodfirst: answering a basic need.
